BILL NUMBER: AB 1844 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Chávez FEBRUARY 19, 2014 An act to amend Section 430 of the Military and Veterans Code, relating to military forces. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1844, as introduced, Chávez. State militia: armories. Existing law authorizes the Adjutant General of the state militia to perform all necessary military duties with respect to, and to control, all armories that are built or acquired by the state, and defines armories for the purposes of this authority. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to the definition of an armory. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 430 of the Military and Veterans Code is amended to read: 430. As used in this article, "armory" means and includesanya building or portion thereof, rifle range, camp site, airport, arsenal, vessel, quarters, accommodations, or training facilities devoted to the use of the militia.
