HOUSE BILL 2333

 

 

 

An Act

 

appropriating monies to the department of administration and the Arizona criminal justice commission.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriation; department of administration; coordinated reentry planning services program; exemption; intent

A. The sum of $10,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the department of administration to distribute to counties for a coordinated reentry planning services program.

B. The department of administration shall distribute $2,000,000 from the appropriation made in subsection A of this section to each of Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal and Yavapai counties to continue to implement coordinated reentry services in each county.

C. The sum of $3,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission to develop a cross-system recidivism tracking database that satisfies the requirements of section 11-392, Arizona Revised Statutes.

D. The appropriations made in subsections A and C of this section are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.

E. The legislature intends that the appropriation made in subsection A of this section be considered ongoing funding in future years.
