Bill Title: Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall establish a Networking for Success Program. Provides that the program shall assist small to mid-sized businesses in strategic market research, geographic information systems, web design and search engine optimization, and social media marketing. Effective immediately.

James Durkin (R-82). Republican bill (22-0). Failed. • Introduced last session (2016) by Rep. Keith Wheeler (R-50). Died in committee. • No hearing scheduled 3) Panel Comments • Panel was split in terms of this bill. On one end, panel believes this bill would help with small businesses. On the other, panel believes citizens should not subsidize private businesses.
