A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-5-22e, relating to requiring public schools to notify parents when dispensing contraceptives to minors; and providing a definition.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.
§18-5-22e. Contraceptives; parental notice; definition.
(a) A public school located within this state shall provide parental notification when it dispenses a contraceptive to a minor.
(b) For the purposes of this section “contraceptive” means a drug or device approved by the food and drug administration to prevent pregnancy.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require public schools to notify parents when dispensing contraceptives to minors. The bill provides a definition.
