SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4019
Commending the Prince William Committee of 100.

 

Agreed to by the Senate, July 9, 2019

 

WHEREAS, for 30 years, the Prince William Committee of 100, a nonpartisan educational forum, has studied issues and challenges affecting the residents of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park; and

WHEREAS, established in 1989, the Prince William Committee of 100 is open to individuals with an interest in local affairs, with membership representing a diverse coalition of leaders from businesses, civic and cultural organizations, and government agencies; and

WHEREAS, the Prince William Committee of 100 regularly hosts panels of experts on relevant issues and grants members an opportunity to build common understanding by exchanging views in a collegial atmosphere; and

WHEREAS, the Prince William Committee of 100 has held more than 200 forums and debates on a wide range of topics, including real estate assessments, road maintenance, education, and the environment; and

WHEREAS, the Prince William Committee of 100 has allowed hundreds of local residents to become more engaged in community life and better informed on local, state, and national issues; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That the Prince William Committee of 100 hereby be commended on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Prince William Committee of 100 as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for the organization's legacy of contributions to Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
