SENATE BILL NO. 715 Senate Amendments in [ ] – February 6, 2020 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 63.2-615.1, relating to TANF; [ feminine hygiene products menstrual supplies ] . ---------- Patrons Prior to Engrossment--Senators McClellan and Boysko ---------- Referred to Committee on Rehabilitation and Social Services ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 63.2-615.1 as follows:

§63.2-615.1. Payment allowance for [ feminine hygiene products menstrual supplies ] .

The Board shall authorize monthly payments for [ feminine hygiene products menstrual supplies ] in the amount of $10 to each female who is at least 10 years of age but not older than 55 years of age and is considered part of the TANF public assistance unit. Any female who is younger than 10 years of age or older than 55 years of age and is otherwise eligible shall be provided such monthly payments for [ feminine hygiene products menstrual supplies ] upon written certification by a licensed physician that the female has a need for [ feminine hygiene products menstrual supplies ] . Such payments shall be in addition to any other public assistance for which such recipients may be eligible and shall not affect her entitlement thereto.

[ 2. That the provisions of this act shall not become effective unless an appropriation effectuating the purposes of this act is included in a general appropriation act passed in 2020 by the General Assembly that becomes law. ]
