A BILL to amend and reenact §22.1-79.5 of the Code of
Virginia, relating to public schools; tobacco products.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §22.1-79.5 of the Code of Virginia is amended and
reenacted as follows:
§22.1-79.5. Policy regarding tobacco products and nicotine
vapor products.
Each school board shall develop and implement a policy to
prohibit the use of electronic
cigarettes any tobacco product
or nicotine vapor product,
as those terms are defined in §18.2-371.2,
on a school bus, on school property, or at a school-sponsored activity.
2. That each school board shall update its policies to comply
with the provisions of this act by July 1, 2017.
