WHEREAS, the South County High School boys' basketball team won the Virginia High School League Class 6 state championship on March 8, 2018; and

WHEREAS, the South County High School Stallions clinched the 1 seed in the Patriot District with a 75 - 72 win over Lake Braddock Secondary School at the end of the regular season and won the district title on February 16, 2018, when they defeated Fairfax High School 45 - 27; and

WHEREAS, the South County Stallions went on to defeat talented teams from Annandale, Woodbridge, and finally Hayfield, which they beat by a score of 74 - 54, to secure the regional title; in the state quarter-finals and semi-finals, they won two hard-fought games against Madison High School (41 - 40) and Battlefield High School (63 - 54); and

WHEREAS, in the state final, the South County Stallions defeated the Western Branch High School Bruins by a score of 63 - 47; senior Seth Dunn scored 19 points and senior Quentin Millora-Brown recorded 13 points and 17 rebounds, his 17th double-double of the season, to finish with a total of 486 points and 375 rebounds for the season; and

WHEREAS, the South County Stallions finished the season with an impressive 27 - 3 overall record and made school history as the first boys' team to win district, regional, and state titles in the same season; and

WHEREAS, the South County Stallions' successful season is a tribute to the skill and hard work of all the student-athletes; the leadership of head coach Mike Robinson, director of student activities Leah Conte, and other coaches and staff; and the passionate support of the entire South County High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the South County High School boys' basketball team hereby be commended on winning the Virginia High School League Class 6 state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Mike Robinson, head coach of the South County High School boys' basketball team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements and best wishes for the future.
