HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 607
Commending Salem Elementary School.

 

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, May 30, 2018

WHEREAS, Salem Elementary School, an exceptional public primary school in Virginia Beach, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018; and

WHEREAS, opened in September 1988, Salem Elementary School replaced the former North Landing Elementary School and originally served kindergarten through sixth-grade students; and

WHEREAS, Salem Elementary School transitioned to become a kindergarten through fifth-grade school in 2009; and

WHEREAS, Salem Elementary School helps students build a strong foundation for lifelong learning through its comprehensive curriculum and diverse co-curricular offerings; and

WHEREAS, throughout its history, Salem Elementary School has cultivated valuable relationships with local businesses, parents, and members of the community to enhance the learning process in unique ways; and

WHEREAS, like all Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Salem Elementary School strives to empower all students with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Salem Elementary School hereby be commended on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Salem Elementary School as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's commitment to academic excellence and three decades of service to the youth of Virginia Beach.
