WHEREAS, Walter Antonio Fajardo, a young leader in the Falls Church community and a dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America, achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout is the Boy Scouts of America's highest and most select rank, with only four percent of all Scouts becoming Eagle Scouts; Walter Fajardo joins prominent businessmen, artists, military leaders, and public servants who have also become Eagle Scouts; and
WHEREAS, throughout his Scouting career, Walter Fajardo consistently demonstrated the Scout spirit and adhered to Scout Oath and Scout Law; and
WHEREAS, among other requirements, prospective Eagle Scouts, such as Walter Fajardo, must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges and complete a community service project; and
WHEREAS, for his service project, Walter Fajardo organized a school supply drive for the preschool children at Annandale Christian Community for Action's Child Development Center, giving children the tools to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Walter Antonio Fajardo hereby be commended on achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Walter Antonio Fajardo as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his commitment to community service and leadership.
