WHEREAS, Jeffrey L. Davidson, a dedicated public servant in the Town of Herndon who made many lasting contributions to the community, died on April 7, 2018; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Towson State University and the University of Maryland University College, Jeffrey "Jeff" L. Davidson retired from the Defense Technical Information Center in 2016, where he had held numerous leadership positions over the course of his 30-year career; and
WHEREAS, having lived in Herndon since 1986, Jeff Davidson sought opportunities to give back to the community and was serving his first term as a member of the Herndon Town Council at the time of his passing; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Davidson built strong relationships with the members of the Herndon community and went above and beyond to enhance the lives of his fellow residents, emphasizing transportation issues, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and preserving the town's history and heritage; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Davidson also represented Herndon on the Inter-Jurisdictional Committee and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority Planning and Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, a passionate aviator, Jeff Davidson enjoyed building, repairing, and flying his own aircraft, and he was a member of the Sterling Flyers flying club, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Davidson will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his partner, Paula, and numerous family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jeffrey L. Davidson, a respected member of the Herndon Town Council; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jeffrey L. Davidson as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
