WHEREAS, Carter Elliot has served the Campbell County community for more than 45 years as owner and operator of his family farm; and
WHEREAS, Carter Elliot's farm is located on land that has been owned by his family since the late 1800s; and
WHEREAS, Carter Elliot began farming in 1978 and currently manages a herd of dairy cattle; and
WHEREAS, to honor and preserve the agricultural way of life, the Elliot family placed the property under a conservation easement to ensure that it remains in use as farmland; and
WHEREAS, Carter Elliot has been an outstanding steward of the Commonwealth's natural resources and has played an important role in the region's agricultural economy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Carter Elliot hereby be commended for his service to the Campbell County community as a farmer; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Carter Elliot as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his contributions to the Commonwealth's agricultural sector.
