HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 235
Commending Dave Becker.

WHEREAS, Dave Becker, a member of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office crossing guard team, was named one of the Commonwealth's Most Outstanding Crossing Guards by the Department of Transportation in 2023 as part of Crossing Guard Appreciation Day; and

WHEREAS, Dave Becker has served as a crossing guard at Emerick Elementary School and Blue Ridge Middle School for the past 12 years, working tirelessly and with a great sense of purpose to ensure the safety and well-being of the school's students and families; and

WHEREAS, Dave Becker has reliably carried out his post through rain or shine over the years, exuding a positive and encouraging attitude that has been a bright spot in the lives of countless students and parents; and

WHEREAS, Dave Becker demonstrates extraordinary care and attention to the needs of the students and families he assists, as his presence at Emerick Elementary School and Blue Ridge Middle School has become an uplifting part of many people's day; and

WHEREAS, Dave Becker is part of the crossing guard team at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office that has been a pioneer in crisis intervention training, improving the agency's ability to serve the entire Loudoun County community; and

WHEREAS, through his unflagging commitment to the safety and well-being of the students under his care, Dave Becker has helped to make Loudoun County a more wonderful place to live, work, and learn; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Dave Becker hereby be commended for being named one of the Commonwealth's Most Outstanding Crossing Guards in 2023; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Dave Becker as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his dedicated service in support of students and families of the Commonwealth.
