HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 180
Commending Virginia Academy.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 15, 2013

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy, located in Ashburn, celebrates its 15th anniversary during the 2012 - 2013 school year; and

WHEREAS, founded in 1997 with a student body of 25, Virginia Academy has become one of the largest private schools in Loudoun County in just 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy is fully accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy offers a superior education for students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy is committed to providing the best possible education for its students, improving work ethic, and promoting the understanding of democracy; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy promotes excellence in the sciences and has received the regional award for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's "Kids in Micro-Gravity" contest, as well as the regional award for the Toshiba ExploraVision competition; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Academy cultivates foreign language skills and has achieved consecutive years with national winners in the National French Contest; and

WHEREAS, the school's dedicated faculty and staff have worked to make Virginia Academy a premier academic institution and ensure the best possible education for its students; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Virginia Academy hereby be commended on the occasion of its 15th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Virginia Academy as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the school's record of academic excellence and contributions to Loudoun County.
