WHEREAS, Grant Bradley, a 14-year-old member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 209 in Emporia, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout is the highest attainable rank in the Boy Scouts of America; it is earned by scouts who have at least 21 merit badges, have displayed exceptional leadership, and have carried out extensive service to the community; and WHEREAS, a dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America for many years, Grant Bradley joined the Cub Scouts at the age of six and later joined Boy Scout Troop 209 at the age of 11; and WHEREAS, a recognized leader in his troop, Grant Bradley served as the troop chaplain's aide for two terms and the senior patrol leader for two terms; and WHEREAS, Grant Bradley's Eagle Scout service project centered around a beautification effort at Monumental United Methodist Church in Emporia; and WHEREAS, Grant Bradley and his team made the churchyard safer by removing two broken fences and also planted three crepe myrtle trees, further enhancing the appearance of the church; and WHEREAS, Grant Bradley was honored with a ceremony where he received an Eagle Scout medal and a badge as symbols of his accomplishments; and WHEREAS, exemplifying the honorable ideals of the Boy Scouts of America, Grant Bradley has shown responsibility, integrity, and dedication; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Grant Bradley hereby be commended for earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Grant Bradley as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievements and service to the community. |
