HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 885
Commending the Faith Baptist School ladies' basketball program.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 24, 2015
Agreed to by the Senate, February 26, 2015

WHEREAS, the Faith Baptist School ladies' basketball program has won four Old Dominion Association of Church Schools varsity state championships and two junior varsity state championships between 2009 and 2014; and

WHEREAS, during the 2009 - 2010 season, the Faith Baptist School varsity team finished with a 14 - 1 record and defeated Valley Baptist Christian School to claim the state title; Brittany Burton and Brooke Morgan were named to the all-tournament team; and

WHEREAS, in the 2010 - 2011 season the Faith Baptist School varsity team finished with a perfect 14 - 0 record and defeated the team from Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy in the state final; Brittany Burton and AshLynn Morgan were named to the all-tournament team; and

WHEREAS, in the 2011 - 2012 season, the Faith Baptist School junior varsity team carried on the program's tradition of excellence, winning the state final against Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy; and

WHEREAS, the Faith Baptist School varsity team returned to form during the 2012 - 2013 season, finishing with a 20 - 0 record and defeating Leesburg Christian School in the state final; Emily Conroe was named most valuable player and Brook Morgan was named to the all-tournament team; and

WHEREAS, both the Faith Baptist School varsity and junior varsity teams experienced success during the 2013 - 2014 season; the varsity team finished 12 - 6 and defeated Heritage Christian School in the state final and the junior varsity team defeated Heritage Christian School to win the state championship; Emily Conroe was named most valuable player and AshLynn Morgan was named to the all-tournament team; and

WHEREAS, the program's success is a testament to the skill and determination of the athletes, the able leadership of the coaches and staff—Mark Morgan, Brandon Burton, Barclay Sale, and Stephanie Forrester—and the enthusiastic support of the entire Faith Baptist School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Faith Baptist School ladies' basketball program on winning four Old Dominion Association of Church Schools varsity state championships and two junior varsity state championships in five years; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Faith Baptist School ladies' basketball program as an expression of the teams' hard work and exceptional achievements.
