WHEREAS, Bruce Wolff, an esteemed law-enforcement officer and longtime member of the Leesburg Police Department, retired in 2023; and

WHEREAS, Bruce "Bill" Wolff embarked upon his noble career in law enforcement with the York City Police Department in Pennsylvania in 1982 and also worked for the Marietta Borough Police Department and the Mount Joy Borough Police Department, both of Pennsylvania, before joining the Leesburg Police Department on July 5, 1988; and

WHEREAS, over his 35 years with the Leesburg Police Department, Bill Wolff worked honorably and indefatigably to protect and serve the Leesburg community and to ensure the well-being of its residents and visitors; and

WHEREAS, Bill Wolff has served the Leesburg Police Department in numerous capacities, including as field training officer, member of the Truck Inspection Team, liaison for the Leesburg Police Citizen Support Team, firearms instructor, speed measurement instructor, motor officer, sergeant of the Traffic Management and School Resource Officer Units, member of the Crash Reconstruction Team, and more; and

WHEREAS, Bill Wolff has received several honors in recognition of his service from the Town of Leesburg, as well as organizations such as Special Olympics Virginia and the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy; and

WHEREAS, Bill Wolff's dedication and professionalism have helped to make Leesburg a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Bruce Wolff on the occasion of his retirement; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bruce Wolff as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his career of public service and best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
