Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 22.1-298.7 as follows:

§22.1-298.7. Teachers; online courses; student privacy training.

Each school board shall provide to any teacher in the school division who teaches an online course training on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. §1232g) and related regulations, including training on the identification and protection of students' personally identifiable information.

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
