FLOOR AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 1-240.01, relating to abortion services; use of public funds prohibited.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 1-240.01 as follows:

§1-240.01. Restriction on the use of public funds; abortion services.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no expenditures from general or nongeneral fund sources may be made out of any appropriation by the General Assembly for providing abortion services, except as otherwise required by federal law.
