HOUSE BILL NO. 327
AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE
(Proposed by the House Committee on Health and Human Services
on January 30, 2024)

A BILL to direct the Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to convene a work group to study the utilization of housing assistance among the Settlement Agreement population.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services shall convene a work group to study the utilization of housing assistance among the Settlement Agreement population. The work group shall study the viability of (i) increasing the utilization of Virginia Housing Accessibility Grants, (ii) increasing the utilization of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, (iii) increasing the utilization of the Livable Home Tax Credit, and (iv) expanding the State Rental Assistance Program. The work group shall report its findings and recommendations to the Chairmen of the House Committee on Health and Human Services and the Senate Committee on Education and Health no later than November 30, 2024.
