A BILL to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the State Health Commissioner to establish and maintain a website that provides information about services and programs available to pregnant women.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the State Health Commissioner shall establish and maintain, and shall update on an annual basis, a website, which shall be available in English and Spanish, that is easily accessible and includes information on the following:

1. Public and private agencies, including adoption agencies and faith-based organizations, and other services available to assist a woman throughout her pregnancy, upon childbirth, and while the child is dependent. This information shall include (i) a comprehensive list of such agencies available and (ii) a description of the services offered by the agency, including which agencies offer, at no cost to a pregnant woman, ultrasound imaging that enables a pregnant woman to view the unborn child or heart tone monitoring that enables the pregnant woman to listen to the heartbeat of the unborn child;

2. Tax resources, including information relating to free or discounted tax advice, child care subsidies, and child care tax credits; and

3. Other related federal, state and local programs.
