A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 4 of
Chapter 2 of Title 33.2 a section numbered 33.2-280.2, relating to Department
of Transportation traffic cameras; data retention.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 2 of Title 33.2 a section numbered 33.2-280.2 as follows:
§33.2-280.2. Traffic cameras; data retention.
The Department shall collect and retain for a period of at least 14 days any audio or video data collected by any camera maintained by the Department for the purpose of monitoring traffic.
