CHAPTER 418
An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 2 of Chapter 29 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-2928.3, relating to Board of Medicine; continuing education requirements; human trafficking.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 2 of Chapter 29 of Title 54.1 a section numbered 54.1-2928.3 as follows:

§54.1-2928.3. Continuing learning activities.

Of the hours of continuing education required for biennial renewal of licensure, any licensee of the Board of Medicine may be required by the Board to complete up to two hours of Type 1 continuing learning activities or courses in a specific subject area. If the Board designates a subject area for continuing learning activities or courses, it shall publish such requirement no later than January 1 of the first year of the term of the license for which the specific learning activity or course is required.

2. That if the Board of Medicine designates a subject area for continuing learning activities or courses pursuant to this act, the first subject area shall be on the topic of human trafficking.
