A BILL to direct the Board of Housing and Community Development to revise the Uniform Statewide Building Code to exempt certain use and occupancy classifications from the requirements of the Virginia Energy Conservation Code.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Board of Housing and Community Development is directed to revise the Uniform Statewide Building Code (§36-97 et seq. of the Code of Virginia) to provide an exemption from any requirements in the energy efficiency standards established pursuant to 13VAC5-63-264 of the Virginia Administrative Code and the 2018 Virginia Energy Conservation Code for the following use and occupancy classifications pursuant to Chapter 3 of the 2018 Virginia Construction Code: (i) Section 306, Factory Group F; (ii) Section 311, Storage Group S; and (iii) Section 312, Utility and Miscellaneous Group U.
