Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall (i) submit an amendment to the state plan for medical assistance services to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to remove or lower to the greatest extent possible any asset limits related to Medicaid eligibility and (ii) to the extent permitted under federal laws and regulations, remove or lower to the greatest extent possible any asset caps on Medicaid eligibility that may be removed or lowered without an amendment to the state plan for medical assistance services.
