Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section
numbered 3.2-3932.1, as
follows:
§3.2-3932.1. Paraquat information.
A. The Department of Health shall develop and post on its website an information sheet for licensed applicators of the pesticide known as paraquat. The information sheet shall contain information about the effects of paraquat on public health, including the risk associated with the development of Parkinson's disease; shall be available in English and Spanish; shall be easily downloadable; and shall be updated annually.
B. The Department shall require that employers provide a copy of the information sheet described in subsection A to any employees, contractors, or other workers who have a license to apply paraquat. Each employer shall maintain records of each employee, contractor, or other worker who has a license to apply paraquat, including a record of when the licensed applicator received a copy of the information sheet.
C. The Department shall collect data on the usage of paraquat, including locations of use, frequency of use, and volume of application, and shall share such data with the Department of Health annually.
