Summary

Battlefield property; termination of easement upon transfer to United States. Directs the Board of Historic Resources (the Board) to require that any easement granted to the Board on a battlefield property include provisions for the termination of the easement if the landowner transfers the property to the United States for incorporation into a national battlefield park. Such provisions shall also state that no termination will occur if any tax credit was issued in connection with the donation of the easement. The bill also directs the Board to terminate the easements it holds on nine particular battlefield properties located within the Petersburg National Battlefield and the Richmond National Battlefield Park, with each termination to be effective upon the transfer of the affected property by its owner to the United States for incorporation into the appropriate park.
