Summary

School resource officers; duties; prohibitions. Clarifies that a school resource officer is a certified law-enforcement officer who is hired by the local law-enforcement agency for the singular purpose of providing law-enforcement and security services to Virginia public elementary and secondary schools and is prohibited from enforcing school board student discipline policies that have no connection to the provision of such law-enforcement and security services.
