Summary

Virginia Self-Service Storage Act; enforcement of liens; online public auction. Allows any public auction held to enforce a lien on personal property stored within a leased space at a self-service storage facility to take place online. Under current law, such public auctions may take place only at the self-service storage facility or at the nearest suitable place to where the personal property is held or stored. The bill also requires that an advertisement of the online public auction be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the county, city, or town in which the self-service storage facility is located at least once prior to the online public auction.
