Summary
Generally revises provisions related to drinking water quality standards. Specifically, the bill provides for additional inspections of a public water system after certain standards violations; requires notification to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health agencies of serious standards violations; reauthorizes through FY2024 a grant program to assist the public water systems of disadvantaged and underserved communities to comply with drinking water requirements; and allows for grants to community organizations that provide education to minority, tribal, and low-income communities regarding drinking water contaminants.
