| WHEREAS, Officer Henry Hughes is being recognized for his | ||
| 35 years of service with the Nassau Bay Police Department at a | ||
| city council meeting on June 10, 2019; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An alumnus of Clear Creek High School, Hank Hughes | ||
| graduated from the Alvin Community College Police Academy in 1984 | ||
| and joined the Nassau Bay Police Department on June 1 of that | ||
| year; in the course of his long tenure with the department, he has | ||
| served as an investigator and a patrol officer; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Officer Hughes holds an associate degree in | ||
| criminal justice from Alvin Community College and a master | ||
| peace officer license from the Texas Commission on Law | ||
| Enforcement; certified as a court security specialist, he also | ||
| serves as a bailiff for the Nassau Bay Municipal Court; in his | ||
| spare time, he enjoys volunteering with the Houston Livestock | ||
| Show and Rodeo; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to | ||
| protecting the public, Hank Hughes has greatly benefited the | ||
| residents of Nassau Bay, and he may take well-deserved pride in | ||
| his record of achievement as he celebrates this important | ||
| milestone in his career; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Officer Henry Hughes for his 35 years | ||
| of service to the Nassau Bay Police Department and extend to him | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success with his important | ||
| work; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for Officer Hughes as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas Senate. | ||
