SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 796
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Gracie L. Paredes for 40 years of exemplary service
  with the Cameron County Sheriff's Office; and
 
         WHEREAS, Gracie began her career with the sheriff's office
  as an administrative secretary on September 14, 1978; due to a
  lack of women officers in her early years of employment, she
  often assisted the deputies with cases involving females; and
 
         WHEREAS, In the course of her long career, Gracie provided
  assistance to various law enforcement agencies, county judges,
  commissioners, and colleagues, and she earned the respect and
  admiration of the citizens of Cameron County; and
 
         WHEREAS, Gracie Paredes manifested uncommon talent in
  handling her diverse responsibilities, and she was widely
  admired for her kind smile, her patient demeanor, and her
  willingness to assist wherever she was needed; she retired from
  the Cameron County Sheriff's Office in November of 2018, and her
  presence has been greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
  Legislature, hereby commend Gracie L. Paredes on her outstanding
  career and her many contributions to Cameron County and extend to
  her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
