Robert Gene Brashear | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
commemorates the life of Robert Gene Brashear, who died | ||
April 27, 2017, at the age of 70; and | ||
WHEREAS, Robert Brashear was born on July 11, 1946, in | ||
Elsa, Texas, to Louis Edward Brashear and Lena Marie McCormick; | ||
he and his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia Jo Brashear, | ||
were blessed with two children, Chrystl Laureen Grebo and Cedric | ||
Latimer Brashear; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Brashear enjoyed a fulfilling, 37-year career | ||
as an educator with the Raymondville Independent School | ||
District, and his passion for teaching science had a positive | ||
impact on the lives of countless area students; he was an active | ||
member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators for | ||
over 30 years; and | ||
WHEREAS, He was an avid outdoorsman, and he operated an | ||
outfitting business specializing in hunting and fishing gear; he | ||
was a published author and photographer, and his independent | ||
publication, South Texas Outdoor Newsletter, received awards for | ||
its coverage of outdoor recreation in Texas; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he | ||
gave unselfishly to others, and his generous spirit, his love of | ||
science and the outdoors, and his enthusiasm for living each day | ||
to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who were privileged | ||
to have known him; and | ||
WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves | ||
behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and | ||
many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Robert Gene Brashear; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Robert Brashear. | ||
