SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 743
         WHEREAS, American Heritage Girl troops from across Texas
  are gathering in Austin on May 18, 2017, to celebrate American
  Heritage Girls Day at the State Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, For more than two decades, American Heritage
  Girls has sought to build women of integrity through service to
  God, family, community, and country; girls ages 5 through 18
  may participate in activities that promote teamwork and build
  confidence and also encourage spiritual, character, and social
  development; furthermore, the organization strives to help
  girls acquire life skills through a badge program that
  includes such subjects as personal well-being, the arts, and
  science and technology; and
 
         WHEREAS, American Heritage Girls boasts membership in all
  50 states and overseas with approximately 125 troops in Texas
  representing cities and counties across the Lone Star State; and
 
         WHEREAS, By fostering faith and courage and inspiring
  young women to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
  citizens and leaders, American Heritage Girls is enriching
  countless lives, and the group is indeed deserving of special
  recognition; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby recognize May 18, 2017, as American Heritage
  Girls Day at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting
  delegation sincere best wishes for an informative and enjoyable
  stay in Austin.
