| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Jacoba Hampton, who is retiring from a distinguished | ||
| career as a history teacher at Oliveira Middle School; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her teaching career, Jacoba Hampton | ||
| has been an innovative, resourceful, and enthusiastic educator, | ||
| and she has remained dedicated to helping her students find their | ||
| path to success; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Hampton has taught world, Texas, and American | ||
| history in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at Oliveira | ||
| Middle School, and she has helped guide the history program in | ||
| her role as head of the history department; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A positive influence in the lives of her students, | ||
| Mrs. Hampton has given generously of her time and energy to | ||
| assist students with their studies, and she has instilled in them | ||
| a sense of pride and a lifelong love of learning; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jacoba Hampton has contributed to the success of | ||
| Oliveira Middle School through her leadership and extracurricular | ||
| volunteerism, and she has armed her pupils with the skills they | ||
| need to compete in the society of tomorrow; the Brownsville | ||
| community has greatly benefited from the diligence and hard work | ||
| of this talented educator; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Jacoba Hampton for her outstanding | ||
| contributions to Oliveira Middle School and extend to her best | ||
| wishes in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her | ||
| as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
