SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 70
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Jerry Vance, who is retiring after 16 years of
  exceptional service as the Liberty Hill High School head football
  coach; and
 
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished career at
  Liberty Hill High School, Coach Vance has amassed a record of
  164-57; his Liberty Hill Panthers captured back-to-back Class 3A
  state championships in 2006 and 2007 while in the midst of a
  38-game winning streak; and
 
         WHEREAS, Coach Vance is known for his success in using the
  Slot-T formation, which relies heavily on a rushing attack,
  instead of the trendier high-powered passing attacks favored by
  other coaches; and
 
         WHEREAS, Coach Vance has amassed an impressive record on
  the field, and during his 40-year career in coaching football, he
  has consistently placed great importance on developing lasting
  relationships with his students; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and an inspirational coach,
  Jerry Vance has had a profound influence on the lives of
  countless young people, and his presence at Liberty Hill High
  School will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Jerry Vance on his many years of
  success on and off the field and extend to him best wishes for
  continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
