WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize the members of the DeSoto Independent School District | ||
board on the occasion of School Board Recognition Month, which is | ||
being observed in January of 2023; and | ||
WHEREAS, The mission of public schools is to meet the | ||
diverse educational needs of all children and to instill in | ||
students the ability to become productive members of our | ||
democratic society; and | ||
WHEREAS, Local school board members are committed to the | ||
principle that all children can become successful leaders, and | ||
school board members work closely with parents, educators, and | ||
the community at large to create a solid foundation and vision | ||
for public schools; and | ||
WHEREAS, The exemplary volunteers who serve as members of | ||
the DeSoto Independent School District board have worked | ||
diligently to improve the present and future lives of the | ||
schoolchildren in the DeSoto community; these dedicated public | ||
officials can reflect with pride on their many accomplishments | ||
over the previous year as they look to the bright future ahead for | ||
the school district, and it is indeed fitting that they receive | ||
special recognition on their commitment to education and their | ||
many contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the DeSoto | ||
Independent School District board on their outstanding service | ||
and dedication and join Texans across the state in celebrating | ||
January of 2023 as School Board Recognition Month; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
the board as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
