| WHEREAS, Dana Ables is retiring from the Millsap Independent | ||
| School District at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, following | ||
| nearly a half-century of outstanding service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dana Ables began teaching first grade at Millsap | ||
| Elementary School in 1968; over the course of her career, she has | ||
| earned the admiration of students, parents, and fellow educators | ||
| alike for her positive attitude and for the nurturing environment | ||
| she creates in the classroom; in addition to ensuring that each | ||
| of her pupils has a strong academic foundation on which to build, | ||
| she has imparted valuable life lessons about hard work and | ||
| discipline and also about kindness, compassion, and courtesy to | ||
| others; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This energetic and creative educator serves as a | ||
| mentor to many of her fellow teachers while continuing to stay current | ||
| with the latest strategies and best practices in her field; moreover, | ||
| she has had the pleasure of teaching multiple generations in a number | ||
| of area families; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Teaching calls for character, commitment, and | ||
| passion, and Dana Ables has demonstrated those qualities in abundance | ||
| throughout her exemplary 47-year tenure; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby congratulate Dana Ables on her retirement | ||
| from the Millsap Independent School District and extend to her | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
