SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Mickey Wayne Haisten
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mickey
  Wayne Haisten of Alba, who passed away on May 27, 2017, at the age
  of 58; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Quitman on July 11, 1958, to Mac and
  Dianne Haisten, Mickey Haisten grew up with the companionship of
  his brother, Keith, and his sister, Kay; in 1978, he was joined in
  matrimony to the former Betty Gail Pope, and the couple shared a
  rewarding marriage that spanned nearly four decades; over the
  years, his treasured family grew to include his two sons, Matt
  and Justin, and his three grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Alba area, Mr. Haisten
  served with the Tyler Fire Department for 28 years before
  retiring at the rank of captain; dedicated to his vocation, he
  was a member of his department's pension board and held the
  office of vice president of the Tyler Professional Firefighters
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Haisten further benefited his fellow
  residents through his work as a member of the city council and as
  a firefighter for the City of Alba Volunteer Fire Department; he
  also co-owned Haisten's Grocery, and he was a valued congregant
  of the Grand Saline Church of Christ; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, his faith, and his
  community, Mickey Haisten lived a rich and purposeful life, and
  although his journey on this earth ended far too soon, he leaves
  behind a record of service that his loved ones can remember with
  pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Mickey Wayne Haisten and extend heartfelt sympathy to his
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Mickey Haisten.
