SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 38
         WHEREAS, Keep Allen Beautiful and its volunteers and
  affiliates received several impressive accolades at the 46th
  annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference held in San Antonio from
  June 17 to 20, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Associated with Keep America Beautiful and Keep
  Texas Beautiful, this successful civic conservation and
  beautification program sponsors such education and outreach
  initiatives as an Arbor Day poster contest, a reuse-a-shoe
  contest, and a recycled art contest, as well as suggestions for
  Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow service projects; Keep Allen
  Beautiful also sponsors Adopt-a-Highway, Adopt-a-Waterway, and
  Adopt-a-Spot cleanup efforts; and
         WHEREAS, Keep Allen Beautiful received the Sustained
  Excellence Award and was recognized as a Gold Star Affiliate for
  the ninth year in a row at the Governor's Community Achievement
  Awards Dinner, while at the Keep Texas Beautiful Awards luncheon,
  science teacher Laurie Merrick of the Allen Independent School
  District received the 2012 Sadie Ray Graff Educator Award, Randy
  Boys was named Volunteer of the Year for his work with the Boy
  Scouts and his efforts to organize Earthfest 2012, and Allen's
  waste services provider, Community Waste Disposal, received the
  Ebby Halliday-Maurice Acers Business and Industry Innovation
  Award; and
         WHEREAS,
 
 
 
 
         RESOLVED,
 
 
 
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Keep Allen Beautiful as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas Senate.
