SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Eduardo Infante, who is retiring as superintendent of
  the Lyford Consolidated Independent School District after a
  distinguished 38-year career in the field of education; and
         WHEREAS, Eduardo Infante grew up in Lyford, where he
  absorbed the Rio Grande Valley bedrock values of education,
  community, and faith; a 1976 graduate of Lyford High School, he
  earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of
  Texas--Pan American; and
         WHEREAS, Eduardo served for eight years as a classroom
  teacher before entering the field of school administration, and
  he has served as superintendent of the Lyford Consolidated
  Independent School District for the past 13 years; and
         WHEREAS, Under his outstanding leadership, the district
  received "Recognized" status for the first time, and it was one
  of the first small, rural districts in the state to initiate a
  district-wide, one-to-one instructional technology program
  using iPads; and
         WHEREAS, He has been active in a number of professional
  organizations, including the Texas Association of School
  Administrators; in 2011, he was named the Region I Superintendent
  of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary educator, he is respected and
  admired by his colleagues in education and the Lyford community,
  and his presence as superintendent of the Lyford Consolidated
  Independent School District will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Eduardo Infante
  on his long and distinguished career in education and extend to
  him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
