Martha Lee Frazar Woolf | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Arlington in mourning the loss of Martha Lee Frazar | ||
Woolf, who died July 14, 2013, at the age of 89; and | ||
WHEREAS, Martha Frazar was born on March 19, 1924, in | ||
Strawn, Texas, and was a descendant of pioneer settlers of the | ||
Palo Pinto County region; she graduated from Strawn High School | ||
and attended Tarleton State College; and | ||
WHEREAS, She married Jack Woolf on July 10, 1948, and they | ||
spent 65 years together, raised three children, and were blessed | ||
with two grandsons and a great-grandson; and | ||
WHEREAS, Martha moved to Arlington in 1957 when her husband | ||
joined the administration of The University of Texas at | ||
Arlington; she served as a gracious hostess for the university | ||
and was a member of the Faculty Women's Club; she also was active | ||
in a number of community clubs and organizations and was a member | ||
of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and | ||
WHEREAS, She was an exemplary lady and was devoted to her | ||
family and many friends; she was a devout Christian and a member | ||
of Trinity United Methodist Church; and | ||
WHEREAS, Martha Woolf was a source of joy and strength to | ||
those who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by all who were | ||
privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
condolences to the bereaved family of Martha Lee Frazar Woolf; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
those held dear by Martha Woolf as an expression of deepest | ||
sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns | ||
this day, it do so in memory of Martha Woolf. | ||
