WHEREAS, The Honorable Tim Boswell of Mineola retired as | ||
judge of the 402nd State District Court in Wood County on | ||
December 31, 2016, concluding an exemplary tenure in office that | ||
spanned 17 years; and | ||
WHEREAS, The court's sole jurist, Judge Boswell was | ||
appointed by Governor George W. Bush on September 1, 1999, the date | ||
of the court's inception; he distinguished himself through his | ||
knowledge, dedication, and thoroughness, and he was awarded the | ||
Certificate of Special Competence in the field of general | ||
jurisprudence by the Texas College for Judicial Studies; he | ||
further benefitted his profession through his service as Region | ||
One representative for the Texas District Judges Association; and | ||
WHEREAS, Tim Boswell was born in Mineola in 1942; after | ||
graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, he completed | ||
both a master's degree and a doctorate at Texas Christian | ||
University; he went on to attend Baylor University Law School and | ||
subsequently entered private practice in Wood County and taught | ||
at Paul Quinn College; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Judge Boswell has been | ||
supported by the love and encouragement of his wife, Celia; his | ||
retirement will allow him to spend more time with his children | ||
and grandchildren, as well as to enhance his already considerable | ||
culinary skills; and | ||
WHEREAS, Tim Boswell's career as a jurist was characterized | ||
by diligence, integrity, and a passion for the law, and as he | ||
embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life, he may indeed | ||
reflect with pride on his contributions to the Lone Star State; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable Tim Boswell on his | ||
retirement as judge of the 402nd State District Court and extend to | ||
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
Judge Boswell as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
