	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26


	In Memory
	of
	Elena Richardson

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
	commemorates the life of Elena Richardson, who died June 2, 2017,
	at the age of 91; and
	WHEREAS, Elena Richardson was an exemplary citizen who was
	respected and admired in her community for her deep and abiding
	faith and her many achievements; and
	WHEREAS, Elena Richardson was born on March 3, 1926, in
	Brownsville; she and her beloved husband, the late Harry R.
	Richardson, were blessed with 10 children and with many
	grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a source of much
	pride and joy; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Richardson was a devout Christian who practiced
	her faith in her daily life, and she was a source of strength and
	inspiration to her children; and
	WHEREAS, A woman of courage, compassion, and grace, she gave
	unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, her forgiving spirit, and
	her kindness will not be forgotten by those who were privileged
	to share in her life; and
	WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
	and she leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by
	her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences
	to the bereaved family of Elena Richardson; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
	family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate
	and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
	Elena Richardson.
