SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 100
         WHEREAS, United States Marine Corps Private Kenneth
  Christopher Ashby graduated from basic military training at the
  Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego on December 16, 2016; and
 
         WHEREAS, An intensive 12-week program, basic training
  includes instruction in military discipline and studies, marine
  corps values, physical fitness, and warfare principles and
  skills; and
 
         WHEREAS, This patriotic young Texan graduated from
  Winnsboro High School in 2016; in all his endeavors, he is
  supported by the love and encouragement of his proud parents,
  Brian and Anita Bouma, and his sister, Nanie Ashby; and
 
         WHEREAS, Kenneth Ashby has demonstrated physical and
  mental fortitude in completing this rigorous curriculum, and his
  desire to serve his country is a source of inspiration to all who
  know him; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate United States Marine Corps
  Private Kenneth Christopher Ashby on his graduation from basic
  training and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success in his notable endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Private Ashby as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
