| proposing a constitutional amendment to constitutionally dedicate | ||

| of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public roadways. | ||
| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 7-e to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 7-e. All revenue received from fees for permits for | ||
| oversize or overweight vehicles that general law directs to the | ||
| state highway fund may be used only to acquire, construct, and | ||
| maintain public roadways. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment to constitutionally | ||
| dedicate certain revenue directed to the state highway fund for the | ||
| purposes of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public | ||
| roadways." | ||
