A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the composition of the cybersecurity council.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2054.512(b), Government Code, is amended
  to read as follows:
         (b)  The cybersecurity council must include:
               (1)  one member who is an employee of the office of the
  governor;
               (2)  one member of the senate appointed by the
  lieutenant governor;
               (3)  one member of the house of representatives
  appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; [and]
               (4)  one member who is an employee of the Elections
  Division of the Office of the Secretary of State; and
               (5)  additional members appointed by the state
  cybersecurity coordinator, including representatives of
  institutions of higher education and private sector leaders.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
