A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to approval by the commissioners court of certain
  expenditures made by a county assistance district.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 387, Local Government Code, is amended
  by adding Section 387.0061 to read as follows:
         Sec. 387.0061.  APPROVAL REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN EXPENDITURES.
  A district may not make an expenditure of $50,000 or more unless the
  commissioners court of the county in which the district is created
  first approves the expenditure by a four-fifths vote.
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act applies only
  to an expense incurred by a county assistance district on or after
  the effective date of this Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
