| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Chapter 387, Local Government Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Section 387.0061 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 387.0061. APPROVAL REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN EXPENDITURES. | ||
| A district may not make an expenditure of $50,000 or more unless the | ||
| commissioners court of the county in which the district is created | ||
| first approves the expenditure by a four-fifths vote. | ||
| SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
| to an expense incurred by a county assistance district on or after | ||
| the effective date of this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
