| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 8.0532 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 8.0532. PROHIBITION ON SCHOOL DISTRICT USE OF | ||
| CURRICULUM. Notwithstanding any other provision of this | ||
| subchapter, a school district may not use or authorize its teachers | ||
| or employees to use student curriculum products developed or | ||
| provided before August 31, 2013, by a regional education service | ||
| center acting in collaboration with one or more other regional | ||
| education service centers. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
| legislative session. | ||
