A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to a pilot program to reduce the cost of hunting and
  fishing licenses for nonresidents.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  PILOT PROGRAM. The Parks and Wildlife
  Department shall establish a pilot program in which the department
  charges a nonresident the same fee as a resident of this state for a
  hunting or fishing license issued under Chapter 42 or 46, Parks and
  Wildlife Code.  The department shall evaluate the effects of the
  pilot program on out-of-state tourism related to hunting and
  fishing.
         SECTION 2.  REPORT. The Parks and Wildlife Department shall
  prepare a report describing the results of the pilot program. The
  department shall submit the report to the legislature not later
  than January 1, 2019.
         SECTION 3.  EXPIRATION. This Act expires June 1, 2019.
         SECTION 4.  EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September
  1, 2017.
