| relating to a pilot program to reduce the cost of hunting and | ||
| fishing licenses for nonresidents. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. PILOT PROGRAM. The Parks and Wildlife | ||
| Department shall establish a pilot program in which the department | ||
| charges a nonresident the same fee as a resident of this state for a | ||
| hunting or fishing license issued under Chapter 42 or 46, Parks and | ||
| Wildlife Code. The department shall evaluate the effects of the | ||
| pilot program on out-of-state tourism related to hunting and | ||
| fishing. | ||
| SECTION 2. REPORT. The Parks and Wildlife Department shall | ||
| prepare a report describing the results of the pilot program. The | ||
| department shall submit the report to the legislature not later | ||
| than January 1, 2019. | ||
| SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. This Act expires June 1, 2019. | ||
| SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | ||
| 1, 2017. | ||
