relating to a pilot program to reduce the cost of hunting and | ||
fishing licenses for nonresidents. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. PILOT PROGRAM. The Parks and Wildlife | ||
Department shall establish a pilot program in which the department | ||
charges a nonresident the same fee as a resident of this state for a | ||
hunting or fishing license issued under Chapter 42 or 46, Parks and | ||
Wildlife Code. The department shall evaluate the effects of the | ||
pilot program on out-of-state tourism related to hunting and | ||
fishing. | ||
SECTION 2. REPORT. The Parks and Wildlife Department shall | ||
prepare a report describing the results of the pilot program. The | ||
department shall submit the report to the legislature not later | ||
than January 1, 2019. | ||
SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. This Act expires June 1, 2019. | ||
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | ||
1, 2017. |
